Volvo V70 / XC70 / S60 / S80 Windshield Trim Molding Repair Kit – Rubber Seals + 8 Clips

A repair kit for the windshield side trim molding (A-pillar moulding) on the Volvo V70, XC70, S60 and S80 (P2 platform). It replaces the cracked, crumbling rubber lip and the clips, so you keep your original trim and don't need new mouldings ($150+ per side). Both sides, ready to install, about 1 hour of work.

S60 / S80 owners: this kit covers the windshield pillars up to the top of the windshield. To replace the full seal along the windshield and the roof (about 3 m per side, notched), choose our S60/S80 seal cut to length.

The problem it fixes

• The rubber lip along the windshield edge dries out, cracks and crumbles, especially in hot, sunny climates.
• The trim rattles, vibrates or lifts at speed because the clips are broken.
• Removing the trim almost always breaks the old clips, so the kit includes new ones.

What's in the kit

• 1 pair of rubber seals (left + right), cut and notched to fit, ready to install
• 8 clips, the same quality as the original Volvo clips, 4 per side: 6 yellow (Volvo ref. 30678009) and 2 white (Volvo ref. 9190981)
• The seals are made of soft rubber that resists cold, heat and UV

Handmade in France

My wife and I make these seals by hand in France. The same seal has been on my own V70 for 4 years. Since 2023, over 250 Volvo owners have fixed their windshield trim with our seals.

How to install (about 1 hour, plus drying time)

1. Pull the trim off by hand, or use a trim removal tool. The old clips will most likely break, which is why the kit includes new ones.
2. Remove the old rubber, then sand the trim with emery cloth to remove any bumps or leftover glue. Otherwise they will show through the new seal as zig-zags. Clean with acetone.
3. Mask the area, then apply the polyurethane windshield sealant.
4. Clip the trim back in place with the new clips.
5. Insert the new seal. The windshield and the edge of the trim act as a guide.
6. Every 10 cm or so, put a strip of masking tape across the trim (one that peels off without leaving marks) to press it down so the seal bonds flat.
7. Let it dry for at least 8 hours, then remove the tape.

Water still drains along the windshield into the rain gutter, as with the original trim.

• A polyurethane windshield sealant, such as APP PU 50 (not PU 50 FC, which doesn't bond)
• Emery cloth
• Acetone and a cloth
• Masking tape that peels off without leaving marks
• A trim removal tool (optional)

FAQ

Are the clips included?
Yes. The kit includes 8 clips, 4 per side: 6 yellow (Volvo ref. 30678009) and 2 white (Volvo ref. 9190981). The pair of seals alone comes without clips.

Does it fit my 2007 V70 or XC70?
Yes. It fits the V70 and XC70 (P2) from 2000 to 2007, including 2007. It does not fit the 2008+ models (P3).

Does it fit the S60 or S80?
Yes: S60 2001–2009 and S80 1999–2006 (P2). On these cars the trim runs along the roof. Tip from an S60 owner: pop the front clips and the black clip on the roof, then flex the trim towards the middle of the windshield to get room to clean and apply sealant. Keep the black clip and replace the others.

Does it fit the XC90?
No, the XC90 uses different seals.

Do I need to buy new trim mouldings?
No. You keep your original trim and only replace the rubber seal and the clips.

Does water still drain?
Yes. Water still drains along the windshield into the rain gutter, as with the original trim.

Is the sealant included?
No. Use a polyurethane windshield sealant, such as APP PU 50 (not PU 50 FC, which doesn't bond).

How long does the repair take?
